Kamaka Brown was born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu. He has been a tropical transplant since 1997, living in Southern California. He is a board certified technical trainer, published writer, entertainer, motivational speaker and stand up comic.  He has opened for Makaha Sons, Fiji, Dennis Pavao, Hapa, Hiroshima, Sudden Rush, B.B. King, and Chuck Berry to name a few in Las Vegas, Honolulu and California.

 

His local style comedy CD Touching Brains-Comedy for the Lolo Impaired”along with Aloha Happens products are available on his website www.kamakabrown.com.

 

He is a staff member and roving ambassador associated with  www.alohaworld.com an internet site dedicated to bringing aloha to Hawaiians and Hawaiians at heart living away from the islands.  Kamaka considers himself a "Hawaiian Ebonics Specialist!"

Brooke Mahealani Nacua

Brooke was born and raised in Kāne’ohe, O’ahu and is a 13 year graduate of Kamehameha Schools.  She earned her BA and her MA in Public Health from UCLA.  While studying in California she paddled canoe for Marina Del Rey and danced hula for UCLA’s Hawaiian club.

 

Brooke currently lives on Maui where she is a high school Health teacher.  She spends her free time with her son, Kauanoe who attends Kamehameha Schools Maui campus and on the golf course.

Steven Kainoa Timbal

Steven Kainoa writes the Malama Kālā column, a series dedicated towards sound financial advice for Hawaiians.  Steven Kainoa grew up in rural Hana, Maui fishing and diving and enjoying the natural beauty of the area.  He is a graduate of the Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu and boarded in the dorms.  Steven’s business experience includes flower farming on Maui and a florist shop in Orange County. 

 

He currently is a financial planner with Prudential.  He is dedicated to helping Hawaiians achieve financial success through education and planning.  He is also committed to servicing his clients with the aloha spirit.
